Start with the material list

Builders waste is rarely one identical pile. A renovation might leave lengths of timber, broken boards, bagged rubble, soil, metal and packaging in the same work area. Photograph the full pile and add close-ups of anything that is difficult to identify. A short list of materials, the approximate number of bags or pieces, and whether anything is wet or mixed helps EasyPro decide what can be quoted.

Some materials need checking before collection. Plasterboard, soil and rubble can have different handling and disposal requirements, so identify them clearly rather than describing everything as general rubbish. If a material is unknown, say so. EasyPro will confirm whether the proposed load can be accepted before the booking is finalised. Do not assume that a photo of timber makes an adjacent unknown bag acceptable too.

Separate material that is ready to leave from waste that will only be created later in the job. Keep timber, metal, bags and any material awaiting confirmation in clearly described groups, and do not add new waste to a confirmed collection without updating the details. That makes it easier to explain what is ready now, what still needs checking, and what can stay on site until the work is complete.

A quote that reflects the real job

Send photos from more than one angle, together with the collection postcode. Include the access route: a front drive, rear garden, shared passage, stairs, a lift, a long carry, or a site where parking is limited. Tell us if the waste is loose, bagged, stacked, or still inside a room. A clear view of the route avoids a quote based only on the pile while the carrying work is hidden.

The useful comparison is the whole collection, not just the material name. Dense rubble and soil can take up less space than bulky timber while still changing how the load must be handled. EasyPro quotes from the photos and the details you send, so include every part you want collected. If the pile grows after the quote, send an updated photo before collection rather than relying on the first estimate.

Trade paperwork and household DIY

For a builder, decorator, landscaper or other business, check that the carrier is authorised and keep an accurate transfer record for the waste. The GOV.UK guidance on waste transfer notes explains what information businesses need to record and retain. EasyPro is registered as an upper-tier waste carrier under CBDU516748. A waste transfer note is issued as standard for business clearances; keep it with the job paperwork and make sure the description matches what was actually collected.

Household DIY waste can be discussed in the same way. Explain whether the work is your own home project or a trade job, and send the material list and photos. For a mixed household load that includes furniture, appliances or bags as well as building remnants, the main rubbish removal service may be the better starting point.

Safe access and collection timing

Please keep people away from the loading route and tell us about unstable stacks, sharp edges, low entrances or anything that cannot be moved safely. Keep waste on your property and shared paths clear, and agree safe access and loading arrangements before collection. EasyPro can discuss same-day or next-day availability when the photos, postcode and access details have been reviewed; it is confirmed when the quote is agreed.

Some items cannot be collected through this service. EasyPro refuses asbestos, paint, chemicals and solvents, gas bottles and aerosols under pressure, oils and fuel, and clinical or other hazardous waste. Separate those items from the proposed load and ask the relevant council or specialist service for the correct route.

For green waste from a landscaping job, compare the details on the garden waste removal page before sending your photos. When you are ready for a material check and quote, contact EasyPro with the postcode, access notes and a photo of the whole load.

Send enough detail for a useful quote

Include the material list, full-load photo, close-ups of anything uncertain, postcode, parking and the route from the pile to the truck. That gives EasyPro a practical basis to confirm acceptance and price the collection.

Frequently asked questions

What builders waste can you collect?

Builders waste, timber and metal are listed among the materials EasyPro handles. Send a clear photo and describe anything unusual so it can be checked before a booking is agreed.

Can you take plasterboard, soil or rubble?

These materials need to be identified before collection because they can affect handling and disposal. Include them in the photos and wait for confirmation that the proposed load can be accepted.

Do I need to move the waste to the roadside?

Tell us whether the waste is in a garden, garage, room or active work area, and describe stairs, gates, distance and parking. The quote can then account for the actual carrying and access involved.

What paperwork does a business need?

Businesses need an accurate transfer record for their non-hazardous waste. EasyPro issues a waste transfer note as standard for business clearances; keep it with your job records. The GOV.UK guidance linked on this page explains the requirements.
