What a load actually covers
Most calls are some mix of the same things: bin bags that the council will not take, a sofa that will not go back through the door it came in by, a fridge that stopped working, and the corner of the garden that has been “sorted out next weekend” for two years.
All of it goes in the same caged tipper, and all of it is priced the same way — once, for the load, from a photograph. There is no hourly rate running while somebody works out where to start.
We do the carrying
This is the part people are most surprised by. You do not need to drag anything to the kerb, break down the wardrobe, or be strong enough to lift the washing machine. If it is in the photo and it is on the list below, it gets carried out.
What that does mean is that access matters to the price. A third-floor flat with no lift and a load of flooring is a different job from a garage with the door open onto a drive. Say which it is when you send the picture and the figure you get back is the figure you pay.
Trade waste: builders, gardeners and landscapers
A good share of the work is not householders at all. Builders with a strip-out to shift, gardeners and landscapers with green waste and turf at the end of a job, and small firms who need a load gone before the next one starts.
It works the same way — a photo, a price for the load, and it goes. What changes is the paperwork: a business has a duty of care to keep a waste transfer note for its waste, so one is issued as standard rather than on request.

Why the licence number is on every page
Under the household waste duty of care you are responsible for who you hand your rubbish to. If someone takes it away for cash and it turns up in a lay-by on the Scole road, the council traces it back to you, not to them — and householders do get fined for it.

These need a differently permitted carrier. Norfolk and Suffolk county household waste recycling centres accept most of them from householders free of charge, and your council's website lists the nearest one.
Roughly how much is a load
A few items
A mattress, a fridge, a handful of bags — the jobs a car boot will not take.
Quarter to half load
A shed emptied, a single room, or a garden tidy-up bagged and ready.
Half to three-quarter load
A garage cleared, or the contents of a couple of rooms.
Full load
A full house or garden clearance. More than one trip if it needs it.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring the rubbish outside first?
No. Everything on the quote is carried out by us, whether it is in a back bedroom, a loft hatch or the bottom of the garden. Mention stairs or a long carry in your message and it gets priced in rather than raised on the day.
Is it cheaper than hiring a skip?
Often, and for a different reason than people expect. A skip is priced for the time it sits there and you fill it yourself; a load is priced once and we do the lifting. A skip on the road also needs a permit from the county council, which a van does not.
What happens to the waste afterwards?
It is sorted, and anything recyclable — metal, wood, green waste — is taken out of the load rather than sent to landfill. You can have a waste transfer note if you want the paper trail, and for a business clearance you should keep it.
Can you come at short notice?
Usually. Most jobs within the Diss area are same day or next day, and the earlier in the day you send the photo the more likely same day is. Sunday is the one day nothing is loaded.
